San diego, Candlelight Vigil: President Bush, Our loved ones are dying in an unjust war. WHY?

09/29/05 "ICH" -- -- SAN DIEGO, August 29, 2005: A Gold Star Father, military families, veterans, and other patriotic Americans from the community will hold a candlelight vigil near President Bush’s hotel Monday night. This will memorialize and honor the service men and women who have already died in the Iraq war, and call for the President to end the war and bring the troops home safely. The President will be staying overnight at the Hotel Del Coronado, prior to giving a speech commemorating VJ Day at Naval Station North Island Tuesday morning. As of today, 1,877 service men and women have died in the Iraq war.

Candlelight Vigil for Peace

Coronado Island

Where: Ocean Boulevard, Coronado Island; near corner of Flora Ave. and Ocean. (Take Coronado Bridge to Orange Avenue. West on Orange to Churchill Place. Churchill Place turns into Ocean Boulevard. Vigil will be on West side of Ocean.) 

Join Gold Star father Fernando Suarez del Solar, military families and veterans for a Candlelight Vigil outside of the Hotel Del Coronado. Bush will be staying at the hotel Monday evening, prior to his speech to a select audience of supporters at Naval Station North Island Tuesday Morning. Bring candles, banners and signs of peace. Anticipate traffic congestion. Carpool or use public transit!
