Information Clearing House
-- I wanted to keep the
ICH community informed on my health issues,
which led to a lack off updates on our website
and newsletter for some time. A quick recap for
those of you who may not be aware of what
happened to present us with these difficulties.
In September 2021 I was diagnosed with
Acute myeloid
leukemia (AML)
and admitted to hospital for chemotherapy and
other treatments to see if it was possible
to get the AML into remission. After 3 months in
hospital, tests showed that treatment was
successful and the AML was no longer active.
On January
first 2022, I was discharged from hospital and
told that I should have a bone marrow transplant
(BMT), which should be done as soon as possible
and if successful would provide me with the
possibility of the remission lasting 5 to 10
years of life.
Because of a
mistake made by Medicare I would not be
able to have the transplant until June first
2022 as it would require constant outpatient
visits, for which I did not have medical
coverage.
In April
2022 my son came to San Diego and brought me to
his home in Texas where I am now located. How
does one express gratitude to those who
supported my recovery and played such
an important role in financing treatments while
I waited for the transplant? There are no words
that can express my thanks and respect to those
of you who were
able to help and to all those who have
supported my work for the last 22 years. I have
no doubt that I would not be alive without your
assistance.
While
the the transplant, chemotherapy and radiation
treatments were difficult, the do not compare to
the effort required to have my body regain its
strength. I am assured by my doctors and
specialists that I should be able to life a
fairly normal life within a 6 to 9 months.
I am getting
healthier every day and the doctors say I
can return to work 3 for days a week. There only
a few things in life that I enjoy more than
my work on ICH.
This AML
experience has brought humility and gratitude
for every moment of life, I have met a lot
of people over the years who have shared
their insights, experiences and knowledge with
me, that have enabled me to provide
opinion and news, which are not normally
available in main stream media.
I think now,
more than ever there is a need to further inform
others about how corrupt our governments have
been (Democrat and Republican). Let us stop
electing people who act only to ensure
their own wellbeing. Vote for people who
practice principles before profits, honesty,
respect and service to others.
During the
last number of months many of those who were
contributing on a monthly basis cancelled there
contributions (Who can blame them?) For those
who wish to support our efforts
please click here. It only remains to
sincerely thank you for your help.
Peace and Joy
