- President Trump claimed on Friday that
Saudi Arabia has ‘already deposited
$1billion in the bank’ so that the United
States would continue to station troops in
the desert kingdom.
‘Saudi Arabia is paying us for [our
troops],’ Trump told Fox News host Laura
Ingraham.
‘We have a very good relationship with Saudi
Arabia. I said, "listen, you’re a very rich
country. You want more troops? I’m going to
send them to you, but you’ve got to pay us."
'They’re paying us. They’ve already
deposited $1 billion in the bank.’
It is unclear what
payment Trump was referring to. DailyMail.com has
reached out to the White House for comment.
Calls to the Pentagon
went unanswered on Sunday.
House Rep. Justin
Amash, the Michigan congressman who left the
Republican Party after he came out in opposition to
Trump, slammed the president on Saturday in response
to his comments on Fox News.
‘He sells troops,’ the
independent Amash tweeted.
