December 06, 2018 "Information Clearing House" - WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange can leave Ecuador's London embassy, where he's been living since 2012, Ecuadorean President Lenín Moreno said Thursday.
In a radio interview, Moreno said he had received sufficient written guarantees from the British government that Assange would not be extradited to any country where he would face the death penalty, according to the Associated Press.
However, Moreno said he would not force Assange out.
Assange has said he fears being charged by the U.S for his role in leaking sensitive government information.
In March, Assange accused the embassy of violating his "fundamental rights and freedoms" by restricting his internet access.
